AkzoNobel’s business area Decorative Paints adds color to people’s lives with a full range of interior and exterior decoration and protection products for the trade and consumer markets. Within this context, your mission in this role is to develop and create key reports/measures and analyses within the supply chain and logistics operations, understand the root causes of failures, and drive corrective plans for inventory, cost and planning. You also improve the capability of the planning and logistics community in order to better exploit systems and business intelligence tools, acting as the liaison between ISC and Information Management. As a senior professional you play a key role in the decision-making processes.

Senior Supply Chain/Logistics Analyst

The role and its responsibilities
The position is based at Sassenheim, the Netherlands. As outlined above, your core task is to develop and create key reports/measures and analyses in order to improve inventory, costs and planning throughout the ISC. Your other key responsibility is to support and improve the capability of planners as they seek to better exploit systems and business intelligence tools. This requires you to liaise with a number of stakeholders including IM, ISC Planning, and Logistics. It also requires you to master technical knowledge for the rapid integration of new analysis tools such as Business Process Analysis from SAP. You must also able to track and follow-up on the principle business failure on Service, Inventory and Forecast.

Further, you are responsible for master data compliance, adherence to plan, adherence to Service and Inventory targets. At all times you take into account the financial impacts of various planning scenarios and produce data for use by some elements of S&OP.

In addition you develop and maintain KPI reports, provide IBP support (RCCP, inventory reports, Forecast-Demand, Supply Network Optimization, etc.). You also support logistics services and maintain and develop logistics tool kits for implementation and monitoring of logistics services. AkzoNobel is commited to a process of continuous improvement and on an ongoing basis you participate in, support, and perform continuous improvement projects within ISC and Logistics. As such, this role represents an exciting challenge for a proactive and entrepreneurial team worker and builder who is able to spend around 20% of the time traveling.

Candidate profile
To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or another relevant discipline);
  • At least three years of experience in a supply chain role;
  • Experienced with SAP ECC and APO, but especially skilled with BI and Query Designer;
  • Proficiency in MS Office and a good knowledge of Excel, with experience in Access DB an advantage;
  • Customer service or finance/controlling experience is an advantage;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English.
